Pro-Bono Legal Services

Mark Murphy and Tim Murphy have been the sole coordinators of pro bono legal services to the men and women of the Kansas City Rescue Mission since 2014.  Kansas City Rescue Mission is a faith based center that serves the homeless and disabled in Kansas City.  The Murphy Law Firm helps them dispose of their legal issues at no cost so they can concentrate on recovery and job training. Educational Support

Education is one of the keys of overcoming poverty and adversity.  Tim and Ashley Murphy are supporters of  The Catholic Education Fund, which believes that all children who seek a Catholic education, one that offers both quality and faith, should be given the opportunity. In 2015, Donnelly College named Mark and Meghan Murphy their “Donors of the Year” for their support of multiple students.  In 2016, Mark Murphy and Meghan Murphy created the RiseKC foundation, targeting support for African American men to become teachers and nurses through education at local colleges and universities like Donnelly College, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and the nursing program at the Metropolitan Community Colleges.  Learn more about RiseKC here. Mark Murphy and Meghan Murphy also support early childhood education by serving Little Lambs Montessori School in Mission, Kansas which provides pre-K care and education to 55 children every year.

Community Involvement

The Murphy Law Firm supports the The Supporting Kids foundation, which provides financial support for families battling childhood cancer through corporate partners, individual donors and community based events that are as entertaining as they are meaningful.  They are a 501(c)(3) organization whose goal is to help offset the financial burden to local Kansas City families who have children diagnosed with cancer. The Supporting Kids Foundation helps families who are in the trenches of pediatric cancer right now. Funds provided by Supporting Kids Foundation pay for things such as utility bills, rent, mortgage, flights/lodging, as well as many additional services.  We also support L’Arche Heartland, which was founded in 1987. This charitable community is comprised of five separate homes and two day services where core members (persons with disabilities) and assistants (persons who serve as care providers) live and share their lives.  Relationships are at the heart of the community, with the emphasis placed on sharing lives, responsibilities, and welcoming others. Each person, considered sacred and unique, is encouraged and supported to grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and vocationally according to his or her gifts.

Tim Murphy, Ashley Murphy, and their family are active members Cure of Ars Church and School, serving as President of the Parent Teacher Organization, coaching, and head of the Mothers of Young Children Program.  Mark and Meghan Murphy and his family are active members of Christ Church Anglican in Overland Park, KS, where Mark Murphy serves as Treasurer.
